The cancellation policy for any single day Open Boat trip is 72 HOURS or 3 DAYS, multi-day Open Boat trips and multi-day Free-Diving trips are 14 DAYS prior to trip departure. If you cancel inside the cancellation period or do not show up for any reason then you will be charged the full cost of each of your spots. No rain checks! This cancellation policy pertains to our Open Boat trips only! The cancellation policy for each Charter Group may be different, so please check with the Charter Group. All scheduled trips will run, regardless of rain or shine (youíre going to get wet anyway!). PEACE will only cancel a trip if conditions become unsafe for passengers.
Schedule Changes due to Weather
All destinations and departure times are subject to change depending decisions made by the Captain on weather and sea conditions . Unfortunately, we are not able to predict what the weather will be like for an upcoming trip. The crossing to the islands may be rough, but there are many places the boat can hide from the weather so that your diving is still enjoyable. The Captain will not place the passengers or the boat in danger. The local marine forecast is checked prior to the departure of all trips, unfortunately, as with any weather forecast, conditions can change in a matter of minutes. The Captain will make the final determination as to the destination and departure times, for the safety of all aboard.
Dive Trip-Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
All divers must sign the Liability Release form before being allowed to enter the water. Minors are all required to have a parent or guardian sign this form. If the parent is not going to be on the trip, you may download this form and bring a signed copy with you. This form can be downloaded here as an Acrobat PDF file. Liability Release Form
Air / Nitrox Fills
All of our trips (unless otherwise specified) include air fills. The PEACE is able to fill all tanks, including high-pressure tanks, up to 3500 PSI. The PEACE is equipped with a DNAx Membrane System, which currently produces Nitrox blends at 32%. Because we are not blending with 100% oxygen, O2 clean tanks are NOT required. Nitrox fills are extra.
All divers/passengers who take game are responsible for adhering to California Department of Fish and Game Laws. Each diver/passenger is responsible for all game he/she takes, including the legal size, possession limits and applicable season. DO NOT SHOOT OR TAKE GAME AND THEN ASK WHAT IT IS! If you are not sure, please ask BEFORE taking game, our knowledgeable crew will be happy to assist you, as several species of Californiaís marine life are protected! The PEACE is well known for its hunters, therefore the Department of Fish and Game frequently boards the boat during and/or after a trip. The PEACE will not be responsible if you are caught and fined for taking illegal game. Live game can be stored in the game tank located on the back deck. You may leave your game in your bag or place in directly into the game tank. Please be sure your game bag is marked with your name and/or initials for easy identification, as most game bags look alike! If you bring an ice chest on board to store your game in, please be sure to bring your own ice as well. The ice machine aboard the boat can only produce enough ice for use with our soda machine. Your cooperation is appreciated. All divers/passengers taking game must possess a current CALIFORNIA SALTWATER FISHING LICENSE, as well as an OCEAN ENHANCEMENT STAMP and SPINY LOBSTER REPORT CARD (if you are taking lobster). Please note that 1 and 2 day Licenses do not require an Ocean Enhancement Stamp, but do require a Spiny Lobster Report Card (if you are taking lobster). Link to Department of Fish & Game Website
Please be sure to bring all the necessary dive gear for your trip including tanks, weights and your 'C' Card, a Dive Computer is highly recommended. It is also recommended that you bring normal safety equipment like: Dive Alert, Safety Sausage and a Whistle. Cylume Sticks are required for Night Diving.
The PEACE runs specialty trips for free-diving only. However, free-divers are welcome on any of our trips. All free-divers must carry a float line and a clearly visible float or flag. The float and/or flag will assist the Captain and crew in locating the free-diver, and to keep the free-diver visible for all boat traffic. All free-divers must sign the Liability Release form before being allowed to enter the water. Minors are all required to have a parent or guardian sign this form. If the parent is not going to be on the trip, you may download this form and bring a signed copy with you. This form can be downloaded here as an Acrobat PDF file. Free-Diver Liability Release Form
Each diver or passenger should provide his/her own personal items/toiletries for their trip, (i.e., towels, bathing suits, comb, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreen, etc.) Each head contains a shower with a Hair and Body Shampoo dispenser for your convenience. Food and Beverages
All of our trips (unless otherwise specified) include food and non-alcoholic beverages. A soda machine is provided for your convenience and also dispenses filtered water. However, we request that you bring your own ice and cooler to store them in. For those passengers with special diets (i.e., vegetarian), please be sure to inform our Chef as soon as you board or first thing in the morning so that we can accommodate your dietary needs.
Storing Your Equipment
The PEACE provides tanks racks along the sides and middle section of the back deck. Dive bags and/or dive storage containers can be stored underneath the benches and along the side of the boat. If you are not sure, please ask a crew member to assist you. Spear guns and pole spears should be stored (unloaded) in the Portside and Starboard side gun racks located on the back deck. Please do not store them in the center live game tank. Please do not leave any dive gear on top of the center console on the back deck. The PEACE is not responsible for any lost or stolen item from the boat. All unclaimed dive equipment and/or other miscellaneous items left aboard the PEACE for more than 30 days will be discarded. We do not have enough storage to hold all unclaimed items for more than 30 days. Left aboard items such as clothing will be donated to local charities. Please be sure to check for your personal items and dive equipment before you leave the boat.
Left aboards are only kept for 30 days after each trip. Any unclaimed left aboard items will be donated to a local charity after 30 days. If you are within the 30 days and believe that you have left an item aboard, then email us at email@example.com
. You will need to provide us with a very detailed description of the item, the date that your item was left, your name, contact phone number and an address to mail the item. If we find the item, then we will mail it to you after we receive payment for shipping plus a $20 handling fee.
You may park in the loading zones ONLY to load/unload your gear. Once you have loaded/unloaded your gear, park in the spaces closest to the street that you came in on and the parking is free. Please do not park in the red zones to load/unload your gear. We have provided dock carts for your convenience. Please return them to the dock when you are done with them.
New Parking Procedures
You may still park for free, but you must have a parking pass hanging from your rearview mirror to park overnight. The pass is not required for day parking. The parking passes are available on the Peace Dive Boat. Just pick one up and place it on your rearview for overnight parking. You may reuse the same parking pass for future visits or we kindly ask that you bring it back to the boat for the next diver to use. If you do not have the parking pass, you could get a parking ticket.
Camera / Video Equipment
Cameras and video equipment are welcome aboard. There are two fresh water rinse tanks along the Starboard side for your convenience. There is also a charging station located in the Galley. The PEACE also provides a TV and DVD Player for your convenience, with a small selection of DVD's. You are welcome to bring your own videos or watch the video you've just shot underwater!
